Some of my more Orthodox friends remind me today is Fat Tuesday, which of course means Lent starts tomorrow. Being a Protestant I ask: What's Lent? Just kidding. Lent is the season of fasting and praying; a time of reflection and preparation for Resurrection Sunday.

Given all the hype about the Passion lately, I almost forgot tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. But I'm sure the Passion will put me in the right frame of mind.

i just stubbled on your blog. i find it very interesting that you are studying Kant meanwhile teaching ethics classes...very deep. i have a degree in environmental studies and I have been thinking about bioethics lately. i understand how frustrating it can be when you ask a question and you get an answer like "it depends on who you ask" (referring to Feb.21 entry) often that is my frustration in working with youth culture. well so much for my spontaneous comment--back to being a wallflower. c'ya.
